Bruce J. Putman, President & CEO
Bruce started his career working for two large corporations for 12 years, Ford and GE, following the completion of his MBA degree at the University of Colorado. For the next 4 1/2 years he managed two privately held companies for absentee owners, then opened A-1 STAFFING in January, 1998. In December, 2000, the professional staffing division was opened, later known as A-1 CAREERS. Bruce serves on the boards of the Missouri & Kansas Search and Staffing Association and is the Secretary/Treasurer of the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS).
Vickie Trigg, Director – Operations & Administration
Vickie has worked in various positions in the staffing industry over the last 20 years; starting as an Administrative Assistant for the Vice President of a local staffing company with multiple offices. She has been a Recruiter for a national staffing company, Associate – Sales & Operations for A-1 STAFFING, Operations Manager for another national staffing company and is now Director – Operations & Administration for A-1 CAREERS. She has a background in finance, operations, compliance and training; which blends well with her current role in processing payroll and invoicing, compliance and training.
Kathy Cardwell, Corporate Sales & Operations
Kathy was the Regional Manager of a large national photography company prior to working in the staffing industry for over 20 years. She started as a Recruiter and worked her way up to Vice President of a local franchise of a national staffing company with offices in Kansas and Missouri. As Vice President, she managed sales and operations while supervising multiple branches. Kathy has earned multiple awards. She was Manager – Sales & Operations for A-1 STAFFING prior to the sale of the company. Kathy is now Corporate Sales & Operations for A-1 CAREERS.
Diana Anderson, Vice President & General Manager
Diana started her career in Human Resources recruiting for a large corporation supporting their world headquarters and call center. She has transitioned in the last ten years into the Staffing industry with progressive experience in recruitment, customer contact centers and RPO industries. Diana joined A-1 CAREERS/A-1 STAFFING in 2009 and has been with the A-1 family for over five years with increasing responsibility in growth and profit objectives, talent acquisition, account retention and growth, service delivery strategies and staff development. Diana has earned her CPC through NAPS and is involved in SHRM-KC serving on the membership committee. Additionally she is involved in NEJC Chamber, ACCP as well as MBBS.
Amy Sheaffer, Vice President & General Manager
Dedicated to healthcare staffing, Amy has over 20 years of experience working in the industry. She began her career in home care for multiple years and later managed the office for a group of Physicians, after attending business school. She joined the staffing industry in 2007, with a focus in direct care. In 2011, she started with A-1 CAREERS in a Recruiting capacity and has advanced to business development and leadership for our Healthcare Division in Iowa and Illinois.
Megan Carrica, Branch Manager
Megan joined our team in 2013 and currently leads the Denver branch. Before joining A-1 CAREERS, she played Goalkeeper for North Dakota State University’s Division I program prior to the completion of her BA in Finance/Business Management at Washburn University. She began her career in the banking industry and in her time with A-1 CAREERS she has evolved from Recruiter to Branch Manager and is responsible for all branch numerical goals, business development, and recruiting leadership. She was awarded 2014 Employee of the Year and currently volunteers and leads the new member initiative for Mile High SHRM. Megan has obtained her CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant) certification.
Nicole Kombrink, Branch Supervisor
Nicole joined our team in 2013 and is currently Kansas City’s Senior Recruiter. Nicole has a BA in Communication Studies with a Minor in Business from the University of Kansas. She began her career in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and then transitioned to A-1 CAREERS as a Recruiter. Now, as Senior Recruiter, Nicole is responsible for recruiting leadership.
Heather Foster, Branch Supervisor
In 1995, Heather began her journey in healthcare working in Long Term Care. She discovered the world of homecare in early 1996 where she fell in love with the concept of in home patient care. Later that year, she began her career as an on call scheduling coordinator. She reentered the healthcare staffing market in 2000 and worked in various capacities ensuring patient’s needs were met with quality cares and staff. In 2012, she joined our team as an on call Recruiter and has since excelled into a recruiting role. She now helps lead the Des Moines’ Recruiting team as our Branch Supervisor.
